Why I Love Working From Home

I am often interrupted by my 5 year old with “Mommy can you show me funny videos on YouTube again?” So, if you’ve been working from home for any significant amount of time, chances are you’ve perhaps forgotten some of the small things that make working from home so darn amazing.
I’m here to remind you of a few things that make owning your own home business such a great idea!
30 Second Commute!
When you’ve been working from home for a while it’s easy to forget that for most people getting to work involves getting in the car, rain or shine, and fighting through traffic to get to the office. This is hands down one of my favorite things about working from home! All I need is an HIGH SPEED internet connection (I don’t recommend working from home without one!), my computer and a phone. It’s hard to find a job or business where you can get started cheaper than that, not to mention the money you’ll save on gas and new “office” clothes every month!
Online Business for Mom
Posted by: | CommentsWhen I had my son in 2003, I left my job to stay home with him. Even though I was tired with a new baby I took every chance I could get to figure out how to start my own business from home. It wasn’t until 2006 that I really had my own “online business for mom.”
Laying about eating Bon-Bons was not an option for me, although it did sound good. I needed to bring in a second income of some sort to help with the extras we always seemed to need. Those first few years were a fiasco, although I did find many businesses that would NOT work! 
My husband would come home and see me trying a new “work at home” scheme and at first was very encouraging. But after a few years I knew he didn’t believe me anymore when I said I would make it work.
There was the jewelry making episode, the reselling of gems episode, the festival booth episode, the eBay episode, the diaper bag episode…and more. I remember telling him each time that “this was it!” But it wasn’t.
Finally in 2006, coincidentally coinciding with my first high speed connection, I started selling my own brand of mineral makeup online. That was the beginning of a very long & hard road. Not having any extra money, I couldn’t just hire someone to make my website, I didn’t have money for that. I decided to learn each step…
html… ftp… http… css… shopping carts… div tags… meta tags… keywords… meta descriptions… SEO… ROI… and on and on…
Looking back I think I must have been nuts! BUT my husband came home one day and said “You must on to something…I’ve never seen you stick to one thing for so long!” I was on my way!
Well, it’s all coming together now & I want you to avoid the pitfalls, blunders & mistakes I went though.
