Why I Love Working From Home
ByAs a mom working from home has it’s challenges. I am often interrupted by my 5 year old with “Mommy can you show me funny videos on YouTube again?” So, if you’ve been working from home for any significant amount of time, chances are you’ve perhaps forgotten some of the small things that make working from home so darn amazing.
I’m here to remind you of a few things that make owning your own home business such a great idea!
30 Second Commute!
When you’ve been working from home for a while it’s easy to forget that for most people getting to work involves getting in the car, rain or shine, and fighting through traffic to get to the office. This is hands down one of my favorite things about working from home! All I need is an HIGH SPEED internet connection (I don’t recommend working from home without one!), my computer and a phone. It’s hard to find a job or business where you can get started cheaper than that, not to mention the money you’ll save on gas and new “office” clothes every month!
Pj’s till 11am!
Ok, so not everyone who works from home works in their pajamas, and I usually do have to get dressed to take my son to school, but it is nice to wake up every day and know I can wear whatever I want to wear! It’s important for full time home business owners to remember that not everyone has that luxury, in fact almost no one does!
No One Breathing Down My Neck But Myself (except maybe my bored 5 year old! 
Ask almost anyone who has a job why they’d like to work from home and one of the number one reasons will always be: “To fire my boss” or “To be my own boss”. Yet as soon as we actually make that happen we forget about the power in that. Being your own boss is an amazing benefit. To wake up and not have to worry about making anyone but yourself happy (oh, and maybe your clients as well!)
Those School Trips to the Zoo!
Being able to do things in the middle of most peoples work days is awesome! Even though I work I can take time off and make sure I’m available to go with my son’s class to the zoo for his field trip. There are also no lines at the bank, very few people in the movie theater and lots of parking spaces at the grocery store. Being able to go places without fighting the traffic or dealing with huge crowds is one of my favorite perks that come with working from home.
So, have you thought of your favorite reasons for staying home? I’ve given you a few simple examples of why working from home, or in my case, owning a home based business, is the best possible choice for me. Now it’s your turn!
